“Dine In” is available at So Gong Dong (745 Keeaumoku St, Honolulu)….When it’s chilly in Hawaii and yes, sometimes it does get cold in Hawaii. Searching for a casual Dine In eatery….So Gong Dong is the answer. Just a 15 minute drive from most hotels in Waikiki. A couple blocks from the Ala Moana Shopping Center. So Gong Dong specialty “Beef Tofu Soup” is hearty and flavorful. Has some “kick” but more on bold taste and not overpowering. The Tofu is soft and with the broth together with it’s simmering beef pops with richness and goodness!
It will definitely warm you all over…
Price is right with about $12 average or so…
Well worth it as a stand alone but they do add great side dishes with rice too!

To top this meal off and stay casual theme you should try some Hawaiian made desserts at none other than your friendly neighborhood 7-eleven Hawaii. Kulolo is a popular pudding like coconut dessert with a hint of Taro (it’s bulb/root) shavings makes it somewhat healthy due to it’s rich fiber. Did I mention it’s creamy smooth as an ice cream popsicle?
How about Ubae (Purple Yam) dessert in form of a cookie. Natural sweetness from the yam properties and a great pairing with Kona Coffee. Do you feel me now?

In this video clip I almost mentioned a new playlist I should create….
“Rick’s Food Tour Specialties in Hawaii”…

See what the locals enjoy….
